KUALA LUMPUR, March 4 (Xinhua)-- Brunei's Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah is set to meet with Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad for a bilateral consultation in Putrajaya, the Malaysian Foreign Ministry said on Monday.
The ministry said in a statement that the sultan's visit on Tuesday was in conjunction with the 22nd Malaysia-Negara Brunei Darussalam Annual Leaders Consultation, the highest platform for discussion between the two countries.
"(The) special relationship between both countries are based on a common heritage and culture," the statement said.
"Building on this special relationship, both leaders will take the opportunity of this important visit and annual meeting to appraise the progress of the on-going cooperation and explore new potentials for a more comprehensive partnership that can mutually benefit the peoples of the two countries," it added.
