TOKYO, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks declined Thursday morning after sentiment was dampened by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development cutting its projection for global economic growth.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 156.31 points, or 0.72 percent, from Wednesday to 21,440.50.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 13.52 points, or 0.84 percent, at 1,601.73.
Electric appliance, nonferrous metal and marine transportation-liked issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
