Bayi hold off Guangdong to level 1-1 after Game 2 in WCBA finals

GUANGZHOU, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Li Meng had 33 points, Sun Mengran added 23 points and 10 rebounds while Bayi beat Guangdong 93-89 to level the best-of-five WCBA finals 1-1.

Bayi made adjustments on both ends after their game one loss, with Li Meng reaping 11 points in first period. Guangdong lost target as they hit only one three-pointer out of 12 attempts in the first half which Bayi led 46-42.

After the break, Bayi produced a 9-4 run to surge ahead 55-46. Guangdong's star player Nneka Ogwumike and Li Yueru cut the deficit to 2 points, before Li Meng sealed the 93-89 victory for Bayi.

Ogwumike had 29 points and 14 rebounds, while Li Yueru added 21 points.

Bayi will host Guangdong in Game 3 on March 18.
