JALALABAD, Afghanistan, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Three militants affiliated with the Islamic State (IS) were killed after military aircraft pounded its hideout in Khogiani district of eastern Afghanistan's Nangarhar province on Friday, said an army statement released here on Saturday.
The sorties, according to the statement, conducted on a tip-off in Waziro Tangi area of the restive district, also destroyed the militants' hideout and the arms and ammunitions kept inside.
Militants loyal to the IS group, that are operating in parts Nangarhar province over the past nearly four years, are yet to make comment.
