JERUSALEM, April 3 (Xinhua) -- A Palestinian attacker was shot injured in the West Bank on Wednesday morning after he attempted to stab an Israeli, the Israeli military said.
The incident took place outside the Palestinian town of Huwara, south of Nablus city.
The Channel 12 TV news reported that the initial investigation suggested that the suspect attempted to open a parking vehicle where a young Israeli woman was sitting to stab her before he was shot by the Israeli driver and another civilian.
The suspected sustained serious injuries and a military ambulance took him to the Rabin Medical Center in central Israel, an Israeli military spokesperson said.
No Israelis were wounded in the incident, the spokesperson added.
The incident comes amidst tensions in the West Bank and a day after Israeli troops killed a young Palestinian man amidst clashes near Jerusalem.
