ISTANBUL, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Turkish police on Wednesday detained 10 foreigners in the western province of Izmir over their suspected links to the Islamic State (IS).
Anti-terror teams launched simultaneous operations in several locations across the province to capture the suspects, including nine Syrians and one Georgian national, the state-run Anadolu Agency said.
The suspects have alleged ties to the conflict zones in Syria, Anadolu said, noting organizational documents and digital materials were also seized in the raids.
In recent years, more than 300 people were killed in Turkey in deadly attacks blamed on the IS.
