SARAJEVO, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Visiting Polish President Andrzej Duda on Monday expressed his country's support to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) in its European Union (EU) path, BiH's Presidency office said in a statement.
"Poland strongly supports the European path of BiH and will continue to provide support at the next stages of EU membership," Duda said during a meeting with Chairman of BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik and member of BiH Presidency, Sefik Dzaferovic.
Poland, with its initiatives in Visegrad group, a cultural and political alliance of the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia, offered strong support to BiH in its EU path, said the statement.
BiH Presidency members informed Duda on the country's commitment to continue the reform process in order to create favorable conditions for accelerated economic development.
They expressed hope that the European Commission's opinion would be positive, and that the EU member states would assign BiH candidate status as soon as possible.
On Feb. 28, 2018, BiH handed the answered EU accession questionnaire with a total of 3,242 questions to European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, after which the Commission sent additional 655 questions, which country had also answered.
