HO CHI MINH CITY, April 24 (Xinhua) -- Border guards in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City have arrested a crewmember of a local vessel for illegally transporting guns and ammunition from another country to Vietnam.
Examining the luggage of Nguyen Viet Manh, a 36-year-old crew member of Nam Phuong 01 vessel, on Tuesday, the border guards detected two U.S.-made handguns and 178 bullets, Vietnam News Agency reported on Wednesday.
Manh confessed the guns and bullets were transported from abroad to Vietnam.
He sailed to Ho Chi Minh City on the vessel from the Philippines.
