HANOI, May 6 (Xinhua) -- Nepali Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will pay an official visit to Vietnam and attend the United Nations (UN) Day of Vesak Celebrations on May 9-13, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Monday.
Vietnam and Nepal, which established diplomatic relations in 1975, are expected to bolster their bilateral ties, including such fields as economy, culture and tourism.
Representatives from 112 countries and regions and the UN will attend the UN Day of Vesak, or the birth of Buddha, slated for May 12-14 at Tam Chuc pagoda in Vietnam's northern Ha Nam province, Vietnam Central Television reported on Monday.
The event's theme is "Buddhist Approach to Global Leadership and Shared Responsibilities for Sustainable Societies."
