BRATISLAVA, May 15 (Xinhua) -- Switzerland advanced to the quarterfinals of the ice hockey world championship after defeating Norway 4-1 in Group B on Wednesday.
Andreas Ambuhl opened the scoring in the first period after deking out Norway's goalie and added another goal in the last.
The Swiss goaltender Leonardo Genoni was robbed of a shutout late in the game by Tobias Lindstrom who scored Norway' only goal of the game on his break-away.
Switzerland have managed to win all of their first four games at the hockey worlds against lower-ranked opponents. The last year's silver medalists will face off against Sweden on Saturday and Norway will try again to earn their first championship point against Austria on Friday.
