BEIJING, May 29 (Xinhua) -- The fourth China-EU International Literary Festival kicked off in Beijing this month, with more than 90 literary talks and workshops held in four bookstores, China Daily reported Wednesday.
Covering four themes including the amazing modern female, what European and Chinese writers are concerned about, close encounters with top European illustrators, as well as fantasy stories from the west, the festival features 28 European writers, scholars and illustrators, as well as 21 of their Chinese counterparts.
European countries have become one of the main markets for Chinese culture as more people begin to appreciate Chinese literature and culture, said Nicolas Chapuis, EU ambassador to China at the festival.
The festival will continue until June 5.
