YANGON, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities seized large haul of stimulant tablets in three regions and states, according to the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control on Tuesday.
A total of 1.85 million stimulant tablets worth over 3.7 billion kyats (2.47 million U.S. dollars) were confiscated from a car when it was intercepted on Muse-Mandalay road in Theinni township, Shan state late Monday.
On the same day, 2.37 billion kyats (1.58 million U.S. dollars) worth stimulant tablets and powder were also seized from a car in Daik-U township, Bago region.
Also, a total of 282,750 stimulant tablets worth over 565.5 million kyats (377,000 U.S. dollars) were found hidden in a house in Maungtaw township, Rakhine state.
The cases were filed under the country's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
