TIRIN KOT, Afghanistan, June 10 (Xinhua) -- At least 14 militants have been killed and three others sustained injuries as fighting aircraft pounded Taliban hideouts in parts of Afghanistan's southern Uruzgan province over the past 24 hours, according to an army statement released here Monday.
The statement said the sorties targeted Taliban hideouts in Charchino district and Qala-e-Naw area outside provincial capital Tirin Kot over the past 24 hours, leaving 14 insurgents dead and wounding three others.
A large number of arms and ammunitions of the militants have also been destroyed during the air raids, the statement said.
Taliban militants have not commented yet.
