LASHKAR GAH, Afghanistan, June 13 (Xinhua) -- A total of 11 militants have been confirmed dead after fighting aircrafts pounded some Taliban hideouts in Nad Ali and Marja districts of the southern Helmand province, said an army statement released here Thursday.
In the air raids which were conducted Wednesday afternoon, a number of armed insurgents had also been injured and their hideouts were destroyed, the statement added.
No civilians and security personnel had been harmed during the air operations, the statement said.
Taliban militants who are active in parts of the restive Helmand province have not commented yet.
