KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's National Directorate for Security (NDS) or the country's intelligence agency has arrested a 20-member group of Taliban militants in Kandahar province, south of Afghanistan over the past 10 days, the prime counter-intelligence agency said in a statement released here Thursday.
"A group of 20 terrorists who were involved in subversive activities including attacks on security forces, targeting religious scholars, planting land mines on the roads and terrorizing people in Kandahar have been captured over the past 10 days," the statement said.
All the arrested men have admitted to involvement in terrorist activities and supporting the Taliban group in the war against government, the statement added.
The Taliban militants have not made any comments yet.
