SHIJIAZHUANG, July 6 (Xinhua) -- Police in Shijiazhuang, capital of north China's Hebei province, have busted a drug trafficking gang, with 12 kg of heroin seized.
In August 2018, the anti-drug detachment of the Shijiazhuang police received a tip-off that someone was going to send drugs by express from southwest China's Yunnan province to the city of Zhuozhou, Hebei, via the provincial capital city of Shijiazhuang. The police immediately approached the Shijiazhuang interchange station of the express and found three suspicious cartons.
After unsealing the cartons, the police found dozens of mango tree seedlings with soil attached to their roots, and 30 black bags of heroin hidden in the soil.
On August 22, 2018, the police arrested two suspects including a 16-year-old male surnamed Li. After interrogation, a total of 15 suspects of the drug smuggling gang were caught.
