CHANGSHA, July 9 (Xinhua) -- Rain-triggered floods killed three people and left three missing in Youxian County in central China's Hunan Province Tuesday, local authorities said.
The county government has dispatched first-responders to the affected area for the rescue operation.
Over the past four days, heavy rain has caused damage to various parts of the county. As of 1 p.m. Tuesday, over a dozen places recorded precipitation of more than 300 mm.
China has entered the main flood season with more extreme weather and heavier precipitation to be expected, according to forecasts.
