BEIJING, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- A 6.8-magnitude earthquake jolted waters south off the Sumatra Island, Indonesia, at 8:03 p.m. Friday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter was monitored at 7.25 degrees south latitude and 104.75 degrees east longitude. The quake struck at a depth of 30 km, the center said in a statement, revising its preliminary monitoring results.
