KATHMANDU, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. labeling of China as a "currency manipulator" has received no international recognition and no international organization has provided any evidence of such actions by China, a Nepali economist said.
Posh Raj Pandey, a trade expert and economist and member of government committees in Nepal, said on Tuesday that he did not know about any international group charging China of currency manipulation.
U.S. policy to declare certain countries as currency manipulators aims to fulfill its "political and economic objectives", he told Xinhua.
The International Monetary Fund did not find any indication that China had intervened in the foreign exchange market in 2018 in its annual report released in July.
