TAIPEI, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- The Taipei Palace Museum said Thursday it plans to adopt 5G technologies to build a smart museum that allows visitors to interact with historical figures and cultural relics.
The museum signed a memorandum of agreement with Taiwan's Chunghwa Telecom to further its push to go digital. In recent years, the museum has successfully integrated technologies into the presentation of its cultural relics.
Chunghwa Telecom said it will develop interactive tour guide services for visitors so that when they look at an exhibit through smart glasses, information on the exhibit will pop up for them to read.
The two parties said they believe 5G technologies can bring visitors fresh new experiences in the museum.
The museum said it will first provide 5G signals in certain exhibition areas in November.
