Wen Sen (L) sells a lemon tree at a flower market in Yulin, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Aug. 16, 2019. Wen Sen, born in 1990s, returned hometown to start his planting business of grass and lemon trees after graduation from university in 2017. With great efforts devoted in land rental, pest control and market development, Wen gained profits in 2018, with sales volume reaching nearly 100,000 yuan (about 14,054 U.S. dollars). Wen then established a planting cooperative, which provided over 20 job opportunities for local villagers. A total of seven poverty-stricken households joined Wen in renting land and taking care of the grass and lemon trees, and the income of each household increased 6,000 yuan in 2018. The profit this year is expected to double that of 2018, Wen said, hoping that his planting business would help more villagers increase income next year. (Xinhua/Cao Yiming)
