TEHRAN, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Iran swept aside India 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-21) at the 2019 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship at Tehran's Azadi Sports Complex, Tasnim news agency reported on Thursday.
The Iranian team will meet Chinese Taipei in the quarter-final on Thursday.
In other quarter-final matches, Japan will meet China, Australia play Pakistan and South Korea face India.
The Tehran championship also serves as the Tokyo 2020 Asian Olympic qualification tournament with the top-eight teams making it to the Olympic qualifiers.
The 2020 Men's Asian Olympic Qualification Tournament will be held in Jiangmen, China from January 7 to 12, 2020.
