NEW YORK, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City will be reopened on Monday, after over four months of extensive renovation and reorganization of its galleries.
According to a press release from MoMA, the expansion adds more than 40,000 square feet of gallery spaces and enables the museum to exhibit significantly more art in new and interdisciplinary ways.
The historic expansion, coincides with the 90th anniversary of MoMA, is expected to bring more voices and perspectives to the facility through new and unprecedented ways with additional 50 percent spaces.
New galleries and spaces for performance and events have been added to the world-famous museum, MoMA said.
Members of the museum got exclusive access to see the new MoMA starting Oct. 13.
The museum was closed on June 15, 2019 for the expansion and renovation.
