BEIJING, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- The drama "Everlasting Regret," which features a mournful love story about a woman during her turbulent life in 20th century Shanghai, will be staged at the Beijing-based National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) between Nov. 8 and 10.
Based on Wang Anyi's 1995 novel "The Song of Everlasting Sorrow," the drama was produced by Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center.
The play traces the ups and downs of Wang Qiyao, a former Shanghai teenage beauty pageant winner, against social and political changes from the 1940s to the mid-1980s.
