BEIJING, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- An exhibition opened at the National Museum of China Tuesday to commemorate the 120th anniversary of oracle bone inscription discovery.
The exhibition features around 190 pieces of valuable relics, including oracle bones and shells, bronze ware, jade and books, offering visitors a glimpse into the historical and cultural context of oracle bone inscriptions.
Oracle bone inscriptions are important materials for studying the original configuration of Chinese characters.
First unearthed in 1899, oracle bone inscriptions were listed by UNESCO in the Memory of the World Register in 2017.??
