JAKARTA, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- A total of 280 racers of 20 cycling teams from domestic and abroad will compete in the 2019 Tour de Kepri in Indonesia next week, media reported on Tuesday.
Among the foreign nations having confirmed to send their cyclists are Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam and several European countries, said Buralimar, head of tourism department of Kepulauan Riau province, the venue of the cycling event slated on November 1-3.
The three-stage tournament with a total of 300km in distance will start at Gedung Daerah Tanjungpinang en route to Bintan before the riders cross the sea with a ship to Batam Island to continue the race to be finished at Balerang bridge, the official said.
"The announcement of the winner will be conducted in Balerang bridge," said Buralimar, adding that the cyclists would enjoy the beauty of scenery of the province along the route.
