FRANKFURT, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- The China International Import Expo (CIIE) is a landmark measure of the Chinese government to strengthen and promote the opening-up policy, German pharmaceutical giant Bayer said Tuesday.
"Hosting China International Import Expo is an important initiative to open up its market to the world," Jiang Wei, president of Bayer Group Greater China, said in a statement.
Noting that China is one of the most important markets in the world for Bayer, Jiang said that the company will follow China's determination and strategic layout to expand its prospects, make full use of policy advantages and favorable market conditions, adhere to its mission and provide products and solutions according to the needs of Chinese consumers.
This year at the second CIIE, Bayer will showcase innovative research products and development concepts in pharmaceuticals, consumer health and crop science. Several innovative drugs and treatment solutions for chronic diseases and cancers, as well as high-quality consumer self-care solutions, will be on display.
As a multinational enterprise operating in China for many years, Bayer has witnessed rapid development of China's economy in the reform and opening-up era, as well as many opportunities for foreign enterprises to develop in China, the company said in the statement.
The CIIE is "conducive to enhance economic and trade exchanges and cooperation among countries all over the world and to promote growth of global trade and world economy," it said, adding that it will continue adapting to Chinese market and to bring more high-quality products and solutions to China.
This year's CIIE officially opened in Shanghai on Tuesday, attracting nearly 4,000 enterprises and international organizations from all over the world. Bayer has been participating in the event for the second consecutive year.
