TOKYO, June 19 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks lost ground Tuesday morning as investor concerns increased on the ramifications of U.S. President Donald Trump targeting China for additional tariffs on goods.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 197.44 points, or 0.87 percent, from Monday to 22,482.89.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange fell 13.08 points, or 0.74 percent, to 1,758.35.
Air transportation, pulp and paper, and chemical-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
