NEW YORK, June 21 (Xinhua) -- A manhunt was underway after three people were shot dead on Thursday in New York City's northernmost borough of Bronx, police said.
Two men and one woman, believed to be an innocent bystander, were dead in the shooting and there were no immediate arrests, Detective Ahmed Nasser, Office of the Deputy Commissioner Public Information, the New York Police Department, told Xinhua via phone.
Earlier, local reports said the two men were both 33 years old, and the 45-year-old woman was hit in the back and later died at Jacobi Medical Center.
Initial evidence suggested the shooting stemmed from "large fight" in the parking lot of a strip mall, according to NYPD.
The shooting was reported around 9:45 a.m. Thursday near the corner of Castle Hill and Randall avenues.
Motive for the shooting was not yet clear.
