CHANGCHUN, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Super League (CSL) side Changchun Yatai have left for the country's southern island province of Hainan on Wednesday to compete in the Free Trade Port Super Champions Cup.
The tournament, which will run from July 6-8 in the provincial capital Haikou, features Changchun Yatai and Shanghai Shenhua from the CSL, as well as Sydney FC and Newcastle Jets from Australia's A-League.
Yatai will face off against Sydney FC and Newcastle Jets on Friday and Sunday respectively. Yatai had multiple scrimmages and friendlies during the summer break, according to the club.
The tournament is expected to be a major "warm-up" for the team before the new season of the CSL, which will kick off in two weeks.
