RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- A brace from Colombian striker Fernando Uribe fired Flamengo to a 3-0 victory over their Rio de Janeiro rivals Fluminense in Brazil's Serie A championship on Saturday.
The 30-year-old struck either side of halftime before Leo Duarte added another goal in second-half stoppage time.
The result at the Maracana stadium lifted Flamengo to second in the 20-team standings, a point behind leaders Palmeiras, who have a game in hand.
In Sao Paulo, Inter Milan loanee Gabriel Barbosa netted his 14th Serie A goal of the season as Santos beat reigning champions Corinthians 1-0. Santos rose to seventh while Corinthians dropped to 11th.
In Saturday night's only other match, Bahia won 2-0 at home to Parana Clube.
