BEIRUT, April 3 (Xinhua) -- At least two people were killed and two others were injured after two cars crashed on the Zahrani-Baysariye highway in southern Lebanon, the National News Agency reported Wednesday.
The injured were transferred to hospitals and the state's security forces have started an investigation into the accident.
According to preliminary police data compiled by YASA International, a road safety organization, over 5,000 traffic accidents in 2018 claimed lives of some 450 people in Lebanon.
Interior Minister Raya El Hassan vowed to take measures to curb car accidents.
