The four detainees include three men aged 53, 45 and 29, all from Nghe An, and a 39-year-old man from the capital city of Hanoi, daily newspaper Tien Phong (Pioneer) on Tuesday quoted the country’s Drug Crime Investigation Police Department as reporting.
The police on Monday found the drug in 30 acoustic speakers on a truck registered in the central province, Vietnam News Agency reported.
According to the Vietnamese law, those convicted of smuggling over 600 grams of heroin or more than 2.5 kg of methamphetamine are punishable by death. Making or trading 100 grams of heroin or 300 grams of other illegal drugs also faces death penalty.
