YANGON, July 26 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities seized 16.7 kg of heroin in Shan state, according to the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) on Friday.
The seizure was made by the anti-narcotic task force in Kunhing township on Thursday.
Heroin worth over 417.5 million kyats (278,333 U.S. dollars) were confiscated from a car travelling from Karli to Mong Ping town when it was intercepted at a checkpoint in the township.
The suspect was charged under the country's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
