WARSAW, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Poland captain Robert Lewandowski praised his side as they ran out 3-0 winners over Latvia in Euro 2020 qualifying Group G on Thursday.
The Bayern Munich striker, who has notched 18 goals in 14 games for club and country so far this season, scored all three goals in Poland's win in Riga.
"We did the job. To be honest, it was easy victory and we can focus on Sunday's match against North Macedonia. Now everything is in our hands. If we beat them, we qualify," Lewandowski told Polish television.
"I hope the match against Latvia will give us additional energy. We want to prove that our victory wasn't an accident. North Macedonia is a tough rival, but we should concentrate on ourselves," the Polish captain added.
Lewandowski has found the net five times so far in Euro 2020 qualifying. He is Poland's all-time top scorer with 60 goals.
